Allen Texas is home to 13 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 1 freshman school, 1 alternate school, and 1 high school within the Allen Independent School District. Quality education is an important aspect of the district, which provides the best and most modern resources and tools available for all students. Within the North Texas area, you will also find several higher educational opportunities such as the Collin County Community College. Residents of Allen in North Texas can take full advantage of the wonderful parks and recreational facilities along with being nearby Lavon Lake and Lake Lewisville for great fishing and boating fun.

There are varieties of parks located in the Allen area that offer so much for residents to enjoy. One great example of this is Celebration Park with amenities like 15 soccer fields, two 300-foot baseball fields, soccer pavilion with restroom and concession areas, large multi-sport court, playground and spray ground complex, horseshoe and washer courts, picnic amenities, lake with fountains, lakeside pavilion for large gatherings and outdoor performances and a 1 1/2 mile hike and bike trail.

A few of the notable residents that have or still call Allen in North Texas home include Julie McCullough, Matt Barr, Amanda Dunbar, and Kathleen Baskin-Ball. Along with famous personalities, Allen is home to the Allen Eagle Escadrille, the high school marching band. The marching band is famous due to their performance in the 2006 Tournament of Roses Parade and Bandfest in Pasadena, California. Along with this the infamous marching band participated in the 1994 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland, 1995 and 1999 Texas Gubernatorial Parades, and 1997 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
